Longtime Nashville resident Kristy Solomon was born and raised in rural Illinois on the scenic banks of
the Mississippi River. Building on a varied background in political science, social work, education and
volunteerism, this self-taught artist has merged years of mixed media creations for friends, family, and
charities into a full-time career as an artist/craftsperson.
Supported by her husband and daughter - and inspired by just about everything - Kristy continues to
work through a variety of mediums, including glass mosaics, reverse painting, clay on glass, inks and
acrylics. Mixing techniques and materials, old and new, allows a kind of artistic expression that is at times
tranquil and bold, soft and vibrant, distinct and (maybe a little) daring, peaceful and profound.
